Is the Stiletto 2 a good Sirius portable radio satellite receiver for Christmas?
I was given the Stiletto 2 as a Birthday gift (Yay!). I After signing up for the free 3 day trial, I fell in love with the radio selections offered by the Sirius Premium Content. In Nebraska the terrestrial radio stations are pretty good, but are way to many commercials for me to handle. The ability to listen to a great variety of music with no commercials is huge!
I had been researching a couple of satellite radio receivers for awhile but never wen through with the purchase. Thank goodness I didn't buy it when right before my birthday. During my research I had seen a couple of bad reviews about the Stiletto 2 and this made me wary about the receiver. even after those bad reviews I still loved the fact that the Stiletto 2 was the size of a cell phone making it incredibly portable.
The reveiws I read complained about the poor reception and the uncomfortable headphones, and even a poor battery life. I can agree that the reception on the receiver is not great indoors. Thankfully I researched the satellite radio accessories and bought the home kit... this made the reception a lot better.
When I am away from my home dock, I connect through Internet radio and it works just fine.
I have not purchased the car kit yet, but I do plan to do so... Even though I was able to get decent reception in my car without it. I 'm thinking that the car kit will only make it better.
The user interface is easy to use and learn. I can't imagine how they can make it any better. When I decide to test electronics, I do so without reading the manual to see how easy it is to use and figure out. The Stiletto 2 is one of the easiest devices I have ever used, seriously... Although I did have to read the user manual to learn how the recording features worked, but I'm chalking this up to my goofy self.
Once I learned how, the Stiletto2's recording options are awesome. I have set it up to record a couple of channels through out the night. So in the morning I listen to those channels when I am out and about or working out. This is easily the best benefit of the Stiletto 2.
I have 10 or more hours of recorded music & comedy and have used only 30% of its built in memory. When replaying you can skip through songs just like your MP3 player and for me, that's a great option.
The size of the Stiletto 2 is perfect, because I can put it into my piocket and not worry about it getting broke. Its a perfect blending of pocket size and durabilty for me.
The battery life has been more than adequate. It's rated at like 4+ hours for Satellite or Internet radio and 20+ for recorded or library selections. I can attest that I have listened to it for many hours without running out of power. I wouldn't mind having a spare battery, but it's probably overkill.
The only complaint I have on this radio receiver is that the extra SD memory card has to be added in the back underneath the battery, and if you don't feel comfortable with electronics it could be a impossible task for you.
I listen to my radio all the time and even though I have owned a few ipods, cassette players, and mp3 players, I consider the Stiletto 2 the best music device and sirius portable radio satellite receiver I have ever had.Click Here Now To Find The Best Deals On Satellite Radio Receivers
